Broken

All right, so let me fill you in on what happened BEFORE our Yellowstone trip. The Monday before our vacation, I went to 'Family Home Evening' in my Young Single Adults ward. And we went boating at Steinaker. It was starting to get dark, and the driver of the boat announced that this would be the last time and asked if anyone would like to go one more round. And of course I volunteered lol Well....the driver was simly trying to throw everyone off for the last time. I was on a tube with two other girls, and we flipped. After I was done coughing all of the water out of my lungs....I noticed my finger felt kinda funny. So I looked down and it was crooked and I knew that it was broken. The boat flipped around he asked if we wanted to go one more time, and I told them, "Um....I think I need to get back on the boat...my finger is broken" hahaha Everyone on the boat kinda freaked out. Someone had a car at the beach so he volunteered to take me to the ER. So I called my Mom and told her that I was headed to the hospital. Surprisingly enough, I made it there alive....the guy driving had a nice car and apparently thought it was a good excuse to speed since it was an "emergency". The ER told me it was broken. The Dr told me he could try to set it, but it was going to hurt and he didn't think that it was going to stay in place and I needed to follow up with a specialist. Well, I went to Dr. Young and he told me that I could leave it or I could have surgery and have two screws put it in. If I left it the way it was, he had no guarantee that I would have full mobility, plus it was kinda crooked. Not to mention...that might be an important finger one day ;) So I decided that I didn't want to end up like Jord, and have a handicapped finger. So the night before our vacation.......I had two screws up in my finger. So I was on pain meds for our vacation, and I didn't see any of the drive because it made me sick so I slept. And I don't remember a lot of the trip and what happened. So I probably should have let someone else blog about the Yellowstone pictures.. hahah I had two screws along with two stitches. The screws will always be in my finger. The black line on my finger is what the surgeon drew on my hand to indigate the angle where the screws should be placed.

So I had surgery Thursday around 3. Was out around 5, and got up the next morning at 7 to leave for Blackfoot, Idaho. And I'm happy to announce that I now have full mobility in my finger and it's straight!! :)

Blogging anyone?? Yellowstone

Hello blogging world, I'm sorry, but I have been sooo horrible at blogging. I'll try to make up for it though. So back in July our family went to Idaho to see Jordan and Amanda and to take a side trip to Yellowstone while we were there. We had a great time. Here are a few pictures of Amanda's horses. They were pretty sweet. They are HUGE!! It was nice to finally go up and see her family and the small town of Blackfoot. Thanks Jord and Amanda!!

Sorry, it's not the greatest picture. After we met Amanda's family, we drove to Idaho Falls. It was such a beautiful day!
Sorry, but my picutres kinda jump around. We went to Jackson Hole and rode the ski lift. I can't remember the name of it though.
I LOVED the Tetons! Gorgeous!!!!

It was remarkably beautiful everywhere we went!

There's a funny story behind this picture. So we were just walking around looking for sites, etc. And while we were walking around we saw this sign that said "Natural Bridge 1/4 mile" So we decided that would be pretty cool. Probably an awesome site and a short easy walk. So we started on our trek, not really knowing. Well, we kept walking and walking!! And WALKING! We finally asked some other people on the trail if we were even getting close. And they said we were. So we kept on walking.....yeah it was NOT 1/4 mile to the "Natural Bridge" We could tell that we were getting really close and we hoped for some grand, amazing site since we'd walked not only 1/4 mile but FOREVER. And we finally arrived........
We weren't all that impressed... lol

Not the greatest picture, but this one was just off the side of the road, and I mean right on the side.

I was amazed at how beautiful everything was!!!

Wating for Ol' Faithful :) Dad and I were saving seats for Logan and Mom...and some Asians just came and basically sat down on me...so we didn't end up sitting all together as a family. lol I would have tried to explain we were saving seats, but I'm pretty sure he didn't speak English. And when Old Faithful went off....he snapped about 1,000 picutres.

Jackson Hole

These pictures are from the ski lift. (Sorry they are out of order.) At the lift they had three activities you could do. A scenic ride on the lift, minature golf, and this ride...you went on a smaller lift and rode down on these things...

I wasn't able to ride on account for my broken/newly fixed finger and I didn't want to chance hurting it. Plus it looked kinda bumpy. So Mom was kind enough to stay behind with me and we made sure we got pictures of everyone else. (Which actually wasn't very easy...)

Minature golf

Scenic Lift (Doesn't he look so happy?) Those small figures down there (the pink and yellow dots)....Mom and Dad

We switched riding partners on the way down.
This is a lake in the Tetons...so clear and BEAUTIFUL!! Such a pretty vacation.

It's May.....where is the sunshine and warmth??? ;) It was warm enough one weekend for the boys to play some horse shoes.

However, when it's warm enough to play horse shoes....it's warm enough to do yard work. We spent some time moving the cobble rocks to line the bank of the canal. Our attempt at making piles of rocks for the water to roll off of, to make water sounds...and even though they don't look very big in the picture...they are decent size. We also burnt the weeds. And now (a few weeks later) the bank is covered in bright green grass, instead of dead stuff.
Our back-door neighbor's fence broke... A microburst came through and just blew the fence in all different directions!!
Sorry this is kinda short and not very imformative...but atleast I blogged :)
